While this tool provides a decent picture outside in a brightly lit area, it doesn't work at all for the use it was intended for: interiors. It does have 2 LEDs on the camera end, but when you place it through a hole into a dark space you will see nothing but black. You have to get the camera to within 1 inch of a surface to see anything at all and then you are so close to it that what you see is useless. The LEDs look bright to the eye but they would need to be 1000 times brighter to get this camera to see anything inside an unlighted area - like a pipe for example. Maybe if the pipe was really tiny but it doesn't work at all on anything like a chimney or a large pipe. Most of the consumer Reviews tell that the "General Tools DCS400 Data Logging Wireless Video Inspection System with Water Proof Probe" are high quality item.
