WhisperSense is a single-speed, ventilation fan which is enabled by any of the three following methods: motion on/motion off, motion on/humidity off or humidity on/humidity off. The humidity sensor is adjustable between 30-Percent and 80-Percent RH and factory set for 50-Percent. The fan can be set to run 0.5 to 60 minutes after the motion sensor ceases detection or the humidity returns to the set point. The humidity sensor continues to check that the moisture levels conditions have been met. Complies with States and Municipalities that have moisture control codes such as CALGreen.User-friendly installation-detachable adaptors, firmly secured duct ends, adjustable mounting brackets (up to 26-Inch), fan/motor units that detach easily from the housing and uncomplicated wiring all lend themselves to user-friendly installation. Purchased this for use in a total bath redo of a bathroom that had a window but no vent fan. I might have been able to get by with the 80 cfm model but decided to be safe and go with the 110 cfm model. Our contractor installed it but it should be able to be installed by a handy DIYer who is comfortable doing electrical wiring. In our case we replaced a ceiling light fixture and were able to use its existing wiring for the light but we did have to add an additional line to the switches to handle the night light and fan. Although the fan has a humidity and infrared control, we also put a switch on the fan line so we could turn it off completely.

Operationally this fixture works great. It looks good in the ceiling and the main light throws plenty of light. The night light also throws enough light to find your way around without being too bright. The fan, although not silent, is very quiet to the point that you have to listen to determine whether it is on. It also moves a lot of air. The shower has a shower curtain as opposed to being enclosed. When using the shower with the fan off, the mirror fogged up pretty bad but when using it with the fan on the mirror stayed 90% clear. When the fan is activated by infrared, a small green indicator light glows on the fan. When this light goes out, it means that the fan has no longer detected movement and the shutoff cycle will begin based on the runout time and/or the humidity level set by the user. These can be adjusted relatively easy by removing the assembly cover. The same applies for bulb changes. The run out timer can be used to remove odors after someone has left the room and turned off the light. All in all, I'm very pleased with this unit and, while a little more pricey than other fans, I am not hesitant to recommend it.
