I sold a shaper I had because it lacked versatility, and the cutters cost a fortune compared to router bits. I replaced it with this feature loaded router table system, and it suits my woodworking needs much better. I've used this Jessem router table, stand, lift, fence, and optional sliding miter gauge for over 5 years and really like them. This router table, fence, and lift system are well built, but do have some minor issues

The router mounting surface is slightly below the table, which causes small pieces to drop at the insert and onto the bit as they clear the top, and cause uneven cuts. I personally asked the manufacture about this problem. He said; it was due to variation in the table top and insert thickness, which could not be avoided. I bought the optional sliding miter/fence sliding fence and clamp any small pieces to it, to avoid dropping onto the bit. It's an expensive solution to a manufactures problem.

I also had a problem with the stationary fence slipping under heavy loads. The 1/4 locking knob stud will slip in the 3/8 fence slot. I have since added a fiber washer under the fence locking knob to hold the fence better, and glued sandpaper onto the tee nut to stop it from sliding in the table tee track.

I added a 6" Magnetic Remote Digital Readout to the lift, because the dial on the lift had too much backlash and caused some inaccuracy. Amazon used to carry the iGaging digital readout, which I used on this lift. I also bought one from an online auction for less than $40 and retrofit it to my planer, which will work on this lift too.

Also look at the JessEm 4016 Double Feather Board, which I can highly recommend for any router table.
