I have purchased other brands like Elkay and Blanco in the past for both sinks and faucets and I thought they were okay. I realized good quality once I purchased Franke. I won't buy any other line from now on. Franke's customer service is second to none. If you call the 800 number on the tank, a service person comes out at NO CHARGE and fixes the issue. Period. I have no idea what the previous homeowner is declaring or why. The finish on the first Franke faucet I bought is still perfect. I bought this single handle version because the spout isnt too high and the spray will stay on or you can switch to stream if you need to. The handle is great if you have bread crumbs or egg and you just need to use your pinky to control it. Love it, would highly recommend.

Arrived in your typical china-made cheap box with styrofoam packing. All parts present, including a small wrench. Assembles easily. Was very much what I expected for the price and catalog picture. The metal construction is all one piece that attaches to the small metal base with built in bolts. I was hoping it was not two or three pieces like some lamps this tall. The finish is matte black and no scratches. The chain looks nice. It is heavy enough to not feel cheap.

The seam on the back of the lampshade shows more than I would like.

Overall, a welcome addition to my home.

Delta 36-L352 UniSaw Review

I've had this saw a couple months now and I'm thoroughly pleased with it. Given the price tag, my expectations were very high and for the most part it didn't disappoint. I can tell someone really spent some time thinking about how to make a table saw better.

Everything was done right except the fence. Do get me wrong, it's a solid fence but I had two issues. First, the faces were wavy and not parallel. Lining up the fence to the miter slot was impossible. Once I got the left side as close as I could, then the right side was way off. Solution: I ripped off the cheap plywood faces and made my own out of solid wood. They are less flexible and can be shimmed out perfectly straight. In some places it took the width of 3 or 4 paying cards to make it right. With the shims it is also possible to get the right and left sides parallel to each other in case you make cuts on both sides of the blade. I do wish they had used something other than self taping screws to attach the fence. I may eventually tap threads into the fence to hold the faces.

The other issue with the fence was the cursors. They were so far off the rail, accurate readings were impossible because of the parallax. Also, since they were mounted on top of the fence they couldn't be lowered closer to the rail with a couple of simple washers. I had to make my own cursors to solve the problem.

Overall, I love the saw, and the problems I encountered I was able to fix myself. Actually, I had no choice but to fix them myself. Nothing about the fence was defective--the issues were design related. I wish someone could have put some time into redesigning the fence like they did the saw. Especially considering how much this saw costs.

There is also something I'm curious about. I bought the 3hp version 36-L352. However, after looking at the label on the motor, it's clearly says it is 5hp. Has anyone else seen this "problem?" I wonder if Delta just ran out of 3hp motors and used the 5hp instead.

Makita BSS501 18-Volt LXT Lithium-Ion Cordless 5-3/8-Inch Circular Trim Saw Kit Review

I was within one minute of purchasing this saw and when I asked to purchase a plywood blade. None are available from Makita or any other blade manufacturer. The only saw blade that is available is the multipurpose blade that comes with the saw. The arbor size is 5/8 inch, which does NOT match the 3/8 inch of DeWalt saw blades of this diameter (5-3/8 inch). The dealer did not stock any replacement blades. The DeWalt blades do not fit. So buying any replacement saw blades would be a special order, not the story you want to here when you are in the middle of a project and need a saw blade now.
On the plus side, this saw is light weight, well balanced, with very comfortable hand grips. If only replacement saw blades were available readily and in multiple types.
One caution, a saw blade of this diameter, 5-3/8 inch cannot cut through a 2x4 (1.5 inches) in one pass if the saw is set at a 45 degree miter. So this small of a saw blade is strictly a plywood and paneling saw, not for framing lumber cut at 45 degree.
I am not sure why Makita has chosen such a odd arbor size of 5/8 inch vs. every other manufacturer's 3/8 inch arbor for saw blades of this size.
If not for the blade limitations this saw would have been mine and in my workshop.
I opted instead for the 6-1/2 Makita cordless saw, model no. BSS610. 6-1/2 inch diameter saw blades are manufactured by almost every blade and saw manufacturer and are available in every type (framing, plywood, etc....). So I own a slightly larger and heavier saw that I can buy replacement blades for at any hardware store. Another plus, is a 6-1/2 inch diameter saw blade when set at 45 degrees cuts up to 1-9/16 inches, so cutting a 2x4 at 45 degrees in one pass is a winner.
