General Tools DCS400 Data Logging Wireless Video Inspection System with Water Proof Probe Review

While this tool provides a decent picture outside in a brightly lit area, it doesn't work at all for the use it was intended for: interiors. It does have 2 LEDs on the camera end, but when you place it through a hole into a dark space you will see nothing but black. You have to get the camera to within 1 inch of a surface to see anything at all and then you are so close to it that what you see is useless. The LEDs look bright to the eye but they would need to be 1000 times brighter to get this camera to see anything inside an unlighted area - like a pipe for example. Maybe if the pipe was really tiny but it doesn't work at all on anything like a chimney or a large pipe.

Stiebel Eltron Tempra 15B 240-Volt 14.4 kW Electric Tankless Water Heater Review

Impressed with quality and sturdiness of unit upon receiving it. Installed unit with no issues-- unit works great (supplies very hot water to kitchen and bathroom sinks as well as shower simultaneously). I had shopped several brands and models-- I am very happy with my choice.

Lamello Top 21 800-Watt Biscuit Joiner, Red Crimson Review

I bought the previous version (Lamello 101053UHMZ Top 20 S3 Biscuit Joiner) in June 2006 and have cut over 2,000 biscuits with it. Previously, I had bought the Ryobi and DeWalt biscuit jointers and got frequent misaligned joints. I thought my technique was wrong then I read an article that stated that most biscuit joiners are repurposed angle grinders and don't have the precision (i.e. zero blade runout) required for consistent biscuit joinery. Since my hobbies are furniture-making and trim carpentry and I am serious about flawless work, I bought the Lamello biscuit joiner and wow. The Lamello is precisely machined and built for extraordinarily precise biscuit joinery. Every joint is precisely aligned even cutting joints as fast as I can move the joiner. The bonus is the rotary dial that allows micro adjustment for offset joints. The Lamello is expensive and worth it if you are serious about doing great woodworking. Using expensive hardwoods, it's the only tool I would use for biscuit joinery as I know that 100% of the joints will be perfect the first time. The precision-machined fence comes with several accessories to make it easy to get accurate cuts in every imaginable situation. For edge gluing alignment and similar tasks, it's the tool I always turn to with complete confidence.

Bosch 18636-01 36V Litheon Hammer Drill with 1-L and 1-XL Battery Review

I have been drilling holes varying from small wall concrete mounts to large and deep cement floor anchors for a year now. I live in a concrete two story house surrounded by a 10 foot high 2 foot thick concrete wall and all the floors are concrete including the yard which has artificial grass covering the concrete. I have hammer drilled a few hundred holes of various sizes and depths in every possible spot and type of brick and concrete and this drill has not lost it's power and other than minor wear marks it looks great. Using Bosch drill bits it was very easy to accomplish my work. The larger battery is heavy but it also reduces the vibrations when you hammer drill so it is the one I use most of the time. I have drilled into wood using the smaller battery. I also use the drill on screws and find it's variable speed and clutch a godsend. Very well designed. I still own Makita and just sold my Skill hammer drills so I can say that this Bosch drill is the best I have ever used and will not likely need to buy another one again. I can't believe I didn't buy it sooner...

Little Giant 10813 250-Pound Duty Rating Extendable Plank, 13-Foot Review

I own the Little Giant 17' and the Gorilla 22' ladders. (The Gorilla, of course is a knock-off of the Little Giant and is identical in every aspect.) Although each of the ladders is capable separately of using this plank as a scaffold, I didn't like how flimsy the Little Giant was when it was set up. The Gorilla comes with a nice heavy bracket that makes it very sturdy.

I purchased this plank in hopes that it would be compatible with both ladders and give me a little more height by using each laddder as one side of the scaffolding. In this respect, it exceeded my expectations and works perfectly. It's fairly light weight and easy to use. I weigh about 220 and feel safe while I am on it.

This plank costs $289 at a local dealer. I picked it up from "Little Giant Demos" for $144. No tax. No shipping.

In my opinion, money well spent.

DEWALT DCG411KL 18-Volt XRP Lithium-Ion Cordless Cut-Off Tool Kit Review

Being a welder, I was pretty skeptical of this tool. I have a 7/9 in. electric grinder and two 4 1/2 in. electric grinders, all Dewalt. But when Dewalt came out with the 18V tool, I really didn't believe it could do the job. The Lithium ion battery is what really makes this tool. Quite simply, it will hold a higher charge longer than the nickel cadmium battery ever could. A lot longer. The only con, if there is one, is that when the battery dies, it really dies. It doesn't drain slowly like the ni-cad. That being said, it has saved me countless hours "touching up" surfaces to be welded. I would recommend this product to anyone who wants a quality grinder/ cut-off tool.
