I haven't had a pleasant experience at all with my ice maker. If you are new to ice makers, make sure you buy one with a built-in pump if you are going to hook it to your sink drain. I didn't realize that and had to purchase this pump (more $$) after having spent what I thought was a small fortune on an ice maker. The seller claims this item is drop-shipped from the factory....yet mine was missing a part. Yep, spend a load of money$$ and don't get what you paid for. The seller didn't seem too concerned, so I returned it and bought elsewhere. A serious word of caution....make sure to plug your ice maker into a surge protector. Mine took a power hit and the pump section intermittently shut down....and since the cooling section is plugged into the pump kit, it loses power too. So what happens is the ice maker cranks out a bunch of ice. The pump section shuts down, which drops power to the ice maker. The ice melts and since the pump is not working, the waste reservoir overfills and you have a mess. Since the pump section has no serviceable parts, you can only replace the whole pump assembly...more$$$.
