I used this saw yesterday to cut about 12 2X4's. They were pressure treated and if you've cut that before, you know it can "fight back". To make matters more scary, the 2X4's were vertical so I was cutting in the air, over my head. Dumb huh?

The saw spins at considerably slower speed than a corded saw. If you've used a corded circ saw, you know that they scream and have lots of power. This one doesn't. It runs quiet, spins at slow speed (comparitively) and will stop if it hits a snag. Got the picture?

You need to hold on to this saw and go nice and slow through the cut. Don't push it or it will bind, slow, stop, etc.

I do think it has a place in my tool arsenal for outdoor work on small stuff where there's no convienient power available. But it's not a replacement for a corded circ saw. Contractors will laugh at this review as I don't know any contractor that would buy this.

But for a skilled homeowner, it's a good buy. Especially if you get the bare tool (as I did) for $99.
