I bought this to replace an above-the-tub sliding door because one of the panels broke. The glass on the existing door was only 3/16" thick -- this one (3/8" thick) is MUCH more substantial (and a lot heavier). I removed the broken door and installed this one myself. I consider myself somewhat handy, but am not a carpenter, etc, by trade.

Removing the existing door was simple but time consuming. Removing silicon sealant from tile is not easy. Once that was done, installing this door was not hard. The whole process took me about 6 hours, but I was not at all rushing and took a lot of breaks :-) Basically you just need silicon sealant and a screwdriver. Note that the doors are very heavy. I installed them with no help, but trying to get the doors on the tracks would be easier with two people. I used one whole caulk-gun tube of sealant during this install, but I did wipe away quite a bit. I'd suggest getting the little spatula-like tool for shaping the edge of the sealant (I used DAP 3.0 "crystal clear" and it worked very well)

Overall I am very happy with this door -- it's thick and feels very substantial, slides smoothly and looks good.
