This Porcher sink is just simply beautiful. White shiny glaze. Fire clay construction which means the sink is glazed and fired at a much higher temperature than plain old vitreous china sinks. Fire clay sinks are more durable. If you drop a glass in a Vitreous china sink you have a great chance of losing the sink to a cracked or broken bowl. Drop a glass in a well made fireclay sink and its usually good bye glass. Durability aside this is a beautiful modern looking sink with clean lines and an unusual design that is in no way shocking. This Porcher pedestal sink owns any space it is placed in meaning it stands out looking good. The sink bowl is generous but not huge. The Porcher sink has a functioning overflow hole to prevent accidents if the water is left one. Buy almost any single hole faucet without worry that the water stream will overshoot the bowl. The bowl is not the deepest possible but, I find it very much adequate in its deepness for everyday use at 5.75 inches deep. This Porcher is small but it is not tiny to the point where it is rendered unusable. My 320 pound brother has hands the size of baseball mitts and he can wash both of his hands at once with room to spare in this Pedestal Porcher sink. The fact that this Porcher sink is a full 36 inches tall is also better than some pedestal sinks out here. This Porcher sink accommodates a pop up drain assembly that works fine. My plumber installed the Porcher and it is solidly connected to the wall. Of course my plumber is first rate so he had no problem doing it right the first time. The low flow Moen faucet sends the water in the bowl at a fast but not forceful rate so splashing out of the bowl never happened even with the water turned full on. The glaze looks even over the entire surface of the pedestal and sink. The Porcher appears to be flat against the wall with not much of an uneven gap between wall and sink. My sink is held to strong wood behind the wall lag bolted through the sink with huge washers for added support.

What sold me on this sink is that two of them side by side just look darn nice in my condos small bathroom sink area. The 2 Porcher sinks replace a huge ugly single sink particle board vanity that will not be missed. My 2 new Porcher sinks will be VERY easy to clean since they lack the useless ornamentation of curly-cues and twisty twides common to some bathroom fixtures. These Porcher sinks are definitely right for a modern bath, since their form is dictated almost entirely by function. Yes these Porcher sinks cost a LOT more than most vitreous china counterparts. You must remember that the making of a fire clay sink can not be rushed which is why fire clay farmhouse sinks cost so much. The failure rate is higher when making a quality fireclay sink so there are fewer units created in the same amount of time it takes to create a river of vitreous china sinks. There is NOTHING AT ALL wrong with a Vitreous China sink they work and are awesome in their own right. However if you want to make a design statement in a small place that is a cut above the common place you must consider a Porcher fire clay sink. The Porcher is small without being dinky and difficult to use. A space saving sink in a small bathroom or powder room is not a bargain if it is too small to use effectively. This Porcher sink is useful, pretty and just small enough to get the job done. I give the sink five stars and I give Amazon.com deliveries of my sinks one star. Took them over one and a half months to get me two usable sinks.
